         A. Ferns are shade loving perennials that         come in many shades of green (like hostas) 
         B. Coral Bells are another shade loving perennial that come in a wide variety of colors and still offer the rounded leaf shape. 
        C. Hostas. Hostas are deer candy. They love munching the green leaves from sprout to fully grown.

 3.Plant this/not that annual flowers 
        A. Zinnia. Zinnias come in a wide variety of colors and can tolerate sun or shade.
        B. Snapdragons. Another annual that comes in a wide variety of colors but won’t end up Bambi snacks! 
        C. Impatients. This favorite annual is also unfortunately a deer favorite.

5. Plant this/not that Bushes

A. Japanese Yew. These evergreens come in a ground cover or upright variety and deer do not enjoy their soft needles
         B. Arrow Junipers. These evergreens offer a striking blue foliage that are excellent as a screening bush. 
         C. Arborvitae. Don’t plant them, they don’t stand a chance against deer.

6. Plant this/not that flowering trees

A. Kousa Dogwood. This flowering tree features gorgeous pink or white blooms in early fall. 
         B. Crape Myrtle. This striking tree comes in a variety of colors and blooms from mid summer to early fall. 
         C. Cherry tree. These trees might as well be a deer candy store, especially young trees.
